This overnight ride is to Kernville via US 395, through Kennedy Meadows and the southernmost Sierra Nevada crossing: Sherman Pass. We will stay the night at The Kern Lodge (see below for booking details). The following day is back up Mountain 99, down the canyons and back to Lake Isabella via Garces Hwy for lunch. Then we’ll head back down 178 to 58 through Tehachapi, ending the ride at the Palmdale Chevron station on Palmdale Blvd.
Notes from our pre-ride:
This overnight ride will test your endurance. It is recommended for experienced long-distance riders or those who desire to become one! We do NOT recommend this ride for beginners or those who do not like long rides. At 620 miles in two days, with much of the ride is through very technical mountain and canyon roads (some with rough pavement), a lot of the ride will be slow. But, for those who choose to make this trek, the breathtaking scenery and sense of accomplishment is your reward for making the journey. Because of the longer time, we have changed the meetup and KSU times to 7am and 7:30am accordingly. See you then!
